Sunny skies, moderate winds expected this weekend

Advertiser Staff

The last weekend of 2006 should be dry and sunny, with blue skies dominating the weather, the National Weather Service said.

This dry tradewind pattern is expected statewide today through early next week. Easterly winds will be moderate, about 10 to 15 mph, the weather service said.

Although an upper ridge has reinforced stable conditions, windward and mauka areas can expect a few showers, mostly at night and in the early morning.

High temperatures today and tomorrow will be 79 to 84 degrees. Overnight lows will drop to 68 to 73 degrees.
