UH foe Nevada plays Miami (Fla.) in bowl today

Teams that played the University of Hawai'i football team are 2-2 in bowl games so far, with one game to be played today.

Nevada, which lost to UH, 41-34, on Oct. 7, plays Miami of Florida today in the MPC Computers Bowl in Boise, Idaho. The game was set to be televised on ESPN at 2:30 p.m.

On Monday, Western Athletic Conference champion Boise State will play Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Ariz. Boise State beat UH, 41-34, on Sept. 23. It was UH's last defeat until the Oregon State game Dec. 2.

Earlier, San Jose State and Oregon State won their bowl games, while Alabama and Purdue lost theirs.

San Jose State, which lost to UH 54-17 on Nov. 18, beat New Mexico, 20-12, in the New Mexico Bowl.

Oregon State, which ended UH's nine-game winning streak with a 35-32 win Dec. 2, beat Missouri, 39-38, in the Sun Bowl.

Alabama, which beat UH, 25-17, in the Warriors' season-opener Sept. 2 in Tuscaloosa, Ala., lost 34-31 to Oklahoma State in the Independence Bowl.

Purdue, which lost to UH, 42-35, on Nov. 25, fell to Maryland, 24-7, in the Champs Sports Bowl.

UH completed one of its most successful seasons by beating Arizona State, 41-24, in the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl to finish the season 11-3.
