Large surf expected tomorrow on north, west shores

Advertiser Staff

Surf along north- and west-facing shores will continue to drop until late tomorrow, when a large west-northwest swell is expected to start the new year with waves near warning levels, the National Weather Service forecast.

But until then, wave faces along north shores should be 5 to 8 feet today, 3 to 5 feet on west-facing shores.

Waves may be even smaller on other shores.

Wave faces along east shores will be 2 to 4 feet today. And they'll barely register along southern shores, with wave faces of 2 feet or less in the forecast.
