Waipahu Marine's services set

Funeral services will be held Sunday and Monday for a Marine from Waipahu who was killed in Iraq.

Visitation for Pvt. Lewis Thomas Calapini, 21, will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Borthwick Mortuary Maunakea Chapel. Visitation also will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at the Marine Corps Base Hawai'i chapel at Kane'ohe Bay.

Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Hawai'i State Veterans Cemetery.

Calapini, assigned to Camp Lejeune, N.C., was killed on Jan. 23 in a vehicle accident near Al Taqaddum.

A secretary at Waipahu High School said Calapini attended from 2000 to 2002. Calapini was born in Banqui, Philippines.

First Lt. Pamela Marshall, a spokeswoman at the base, said Calapini joined the Marines in May 2004.
