Witnesses sought for Dillingham fire

Advertiser Staff

Police are asking the public's help finding witnesses to a structure fire located at 1414 Dillingham Blvd.

At about 8:50 p.m. on Jan. 22, a fire was started in a cement bunker that had contained approximately 200 scrap tires, police said.

A second fire last night at the same location spread to the Firestone Car Service Center and caused $220,000 damage.

There have also been numerous dumpster fires in the area over the last three to four weeks, between the hours 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300, or *CRIME on your cellular phone. Free cellular calls are provided by Cingular, Nextel Hawaii, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless Hawaii.
