Beatty among those who will play away

 •  Damien recruit calls big play on signing day

Dozens of Hawai'i high school athletes from around the state yesterday signed national letters of intent the first day documents can be signed that binds an athlete to a college.

Kahuku's B.J. Beatty, The Advertiser's Defensive Player of the Year, signed with Colorado.

Damien All-State defensive lineman Michael Sipili, who earlier verbally committed to Oregon State, also signed with Colorado.

Three soccer players also signed with Mainland schools.
