A day in the life of a high school recruit

Yesterday was National Letter of Intent day — a momentous day for the dozens of Hawai'i athletes and the first day high school recruits can sign a document that binds them to a college, which usually offers scholarships that include tuition, fees, room and board.

The Advertiser followed one player, Damien Memorial School's Michael Sipili, whose decision was up in the air until the very end. Sipili verbally committed to Oregon State in December, but decided just before he signed yesterday to sign with Colorado.
