Waikiki man tosses officer

Police arrested a 20 year-old Waikiki man last night after he allegedly attacked a doorman and a police officer in the lobby of a hotel at 134 Kapahulu Ave.

A police officer was sent to the hotel about 9:30 p.m. in response to a call about a disorderly man. The officer said he was talking to the man in an attempt to calm him down, when the man picked him up and threw him across the room. Police were told that the same man attacked a doorman at the hotel prior to the first officer's arrival.

Additional police officers were sent to the hotel and arrested the man for suspicion of third-degree assault in connection with the attack on the doorman, assaulting a police officer and terroristic threatening.



'Ewa Beach man arrested in connection with series of sexual assaults

Police arrested a 32-year-old 'Ewa Beach man yesterday in connection with a series of sexual assaults reported by his 17-year-old stepdaughter.

The girl said the man assaulted her several times in 2001 and 2002 and again between 2004 and 2005.

The stepfather was arrested at his 'Ewa Beach home yesterday for suspicion of one count of first-degree sexual assault, three counts of third-degree sexual assault, three counts of third-degree sexual assault and two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault.



Waimanalo man arrested for sexual assault

A 26-year-old Waimanalo man was arrested yesterday afternoon for first-degree sexual assault after a 21-year-old woman told police the man had sexually assaulted her.

The woman described the suspect as an acquaintance.



Girl arrested for passing fake money

A 16-year-old girl was arrested in Waipahu last night after she allegedly tried to use counterfeit bills to purchase more than $300 of merchandise from an area store

Police were called and arrested the girl for suspicion of first-degree forgery and second-degree theft.

She was later released without charges pending further investigation.



Kane'ohe man arrested for suspicion of sexual assault

A 52-year-old Kane'ohe man was arrested yesterday for allegedly forcing an 11-year-old girl to have sexual contact with him on three occasions during the past three months

The suspect was arrested at a Paleka Road home for suspicion of first-degree sexual assault. Police said the girl resides in the same home as the suspect but did not say if the two are related.

Police arrested the suspect after the girl told a school counselor yesterday about the allegations.



Boy confesses to swiping uncle's cash

A 15-year-old boy was arrested yesterday after his uncle told police the boy stole more than $300 from him in early January.

Police went to the complainant's home yesterday and while there, were told by other family members that the boy admitted to them that he took money from his uncle on two prior occasions.

Police said the boy then admitted to the police officer investigating the complaint that he took cash on three different occasions, including the last incident in which more than $300 was taken.

Police then arrested the boy for suspicion of second-, third- and fourth-degree theft. He was later released without charges pending further investigation.



Wai'anae Coast robber still at large

Police yesterday were looking for a man in his 20s who robbed a Wai'anae Coast business at gunpoint about 1:45 p.m.

A 47-year-old woman employee said the man pulled a gun on her and demanded money. Police said the man ran away after he was given an undisclosed amount of cash.



Salt Lake man charged in stabbing incident

A 35-year-old Salt Lake man was charged yesterday with the Jan. 18 stabbing of a commercial fisherman.

The victim, a 46-year-old Philippines national, told police he was walking back to his fishing boat when a former fellow employee approached, stabbed him with a pocket knife and ran away.

Police found the suspect yesterday and charged him with first-degree assault.



Cashier reports Mililani gas station robbery

A cashier at a Mililani gas station and convenience mart told police she was robbed at gunpoint early yesterday morning.

The cashier, 56, said a man who appeared to be in his late 20s entered the store about 4 a.m., pointed a gun at her and demanded money.

Police said the lone attendant opened the cash register and gave the robber an undisclosed amount.

The robber was last seen running away from the store.



Kalihi woman arrested in box-cutter slashing

A 47 year-old Kalihi woman was arrested yesterday after she allegedly slashed a male companion on the back with a box cutter.

Police said the victim and suspect have lived together for the past year and began arguing about 10 a.m. at their home on Eluwene Street. When the argument escalated, the woman grabbed the cutter and slashed the victim twice on his shoulder blade.

Police were called to the home and arrested the woman for suspicion of second-degree assault.
