San Diego State beats Hawai'i in baseball, 7-5

Joseph Scaperotta drove in Paul Smith with a single in the seventh inning for the go-ahead run in San Diego State's 7-5 victory over Hawai'i in a non-conference baseball game today at Les Murakami Stadium.

San Diego State is 1-3. Hawai'i is 3-1.

With the score tied at 5, Smyth led off the seventh with a double to left-center field. He advanced to third on a wild pitch before Scaperotta got his RBI single.

The Aztecs added a run in the eighth. Quintin Berry singled and later scored on a passed ball.

Smyth also hit a three-run homer in the third inning.

Hawai'i's Luis Avila hit a two-run double in a three-run fifth, and Derek Dupree had two hits.
