Seahawks Alexander uncertain if he'll play in Pro Bowl
Associated Press
KIRKLAND, Wash. NFL MVP Shaun Alexander sprained his right foot during the Seahawks' Super Bowl loss and is uncertain if he will play in Sunday's Pro Bowl."I didn't even know it happened, but it swelled up," Alexander said Tuesday.
The NFL rushing champion, who gained 95 yards on 20 carries in Seattle's 21-10 loss, spoke a few hours before he and six teammates flew to Honolulu for the annual all-star game in Aloha Stadium.
Alexander said he considered the Pro Bowl "an honor" he did not take lightly. He will receive treatment for his foot leading to the Pro Bowl, the third consecutive season he has been selected for the game.
"If I can play, I'm going to play," he said. "I want to have fun with six of my friends one more time and hopefully not for the last time."
The Super Bowl was the last game of Alexander's Seattle contract. The team has exclusive rights to negotiate a new deal until March 3, when Alexander would then become a free agent.
