Teen charged in reported sexual attack

A 16-year-old boy was arrested yesterday in connection with a sexual attack last month reported by a 15-year-old girl.

Police said the suspect and victim attend the same private school in Honolulu, but refused to disclose the name of the school. The girl told authorities that she was attacked by her classmate about 11:30 a.m. Jan. 25.

The victim reported the incident some time later and positively identified her alleged attacker who was charged with second- and fourth-degree sexual assault yesterday. The suspect was denied bail and was sent to a detention home to await adjudication of the charges against him in Family Court, according to police.



Kaimuki man arrested for sexual assault

A 24-year-old Kaimuki man was arrested yesterday as a suspect in a Dec. 23 sexual assault reported by a 19-year-old woman.

The woman told police she met the man at a shopping mall and later went to his Wai'alae Avenue apartment, where she was sexually assaulted.

Police said the suspect kept out of sight for several weeks after the woman reported the incident, but was located yesterday and arrested for suspicion of two counts of first-degree and two counts of third-degree sexual assault.



Broken nose leads to Waikiki man's arrest

A 32-year-old Waikiki man was arrested yesterday for allegedly shoving his girlfriend into a mirror early Sunday morning at their Niu Street apartment, breaking her nose in the process.

The woman, 32, told police she returned home after going to a nightclub with a friend and was standing in the bathroom when her boyfriend charged at her from behind and shoved her into the mirror, causing it to shatter.

The woman said she called a friend and asked to be taken to a hospital. There, an emergency room physician determined the woman had a deep cut to her nose which was also broken during the incident.

The victim filed a police report from the hospital but when officers were sent to the Niu Street apartment, the alleged assailant was not there.

Police said the suspect's lawyer called them yesterday and arranged for his client to turn himself in. He was arrested at police headquarters for suspicion of second-degree assault.



Girl IDs assailant in incident that left teen with broken jaw

A 14-year-old boy was arrested yesterday in connection with a Jan. 25 incident at an 'Ewa Beach school that left a 15-year-old boy with a broken jaw.

Police said a girl who is also a student at the school, the name of which was not disclosed by police, witnessed the assault, knew the assailant's identity and reported it to school officials.

Police caught up with the suspect after he returned to school Monday and arrested him for suspicion of second-degree assault. He was later released without charges pending further investigation.



Two arrested for robbery in Waikiki

Two men, ages 18 and 19, were arrested in Waikiki early yesterday morning after they allegedly robbed a 25 year-old man.

The victim told police the men approached him and asked for his money and his wallet.

When he refused to hand over his wallet, one of the men assaulted him, and the two men took his wallet and ran, the victim told police.

Patrol officers caught up with the suspects a short time later and the two men were identified by the victim. Both were arrested for suspicion of second-degree robbery.



Teen arrested in alleged knife-wielding incident

A 19-year-old woman was arrested in Waimanalo yesterday for allegedly threatening a 37-year-old woman with a knife on Jan. 29.

The older woman told police she had been involved in an argument when the younger woman picked up a knife about 5:20 p.m., verbally threatened her with it and made several stabbing motions toward her.

Police located the suspect yesterday and arrested her for suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.



Police looking for Pearl City parking lot robbers

Police are looking for two boys who robbed a 36-year-old man late Sunday night in a Pearl City parking lot.

The victim told police the two boys approached him in his apartment building's parking lot about 11 p.m. and demanded that he turn over his wallet.

The victim said he refused to comply, at which point one of the boys pulled a knife and sliced him on the arm.

Police said the victim then surrendered his wallet and that the robbers emptied its contents and took off.

No arrests had been made in the case as of this morning.
