Officer thrown from motorcycle, seriously injured
Advertiser StaffA Honolulu Police Department officer was seriously injured this morning when he was thrown from the motorcycle he was operating on the Pali Highway at about 9:40 a.m.
The "solo bike" officer was taken to The Queen's Medical Center where he was reported to be in serious but stable condition. The incident happened in the Kailua-bound lanes of the highway fronting Queen Emma Preschool.
It was not immediately known if the officer lost control of the motorcycle or if another driver ran into him.
