Officer thrown from motorcycle, seriously injured

Advertiser Staff

A Honolulu Police Department officer was seriously injured this morning when he was thrown from the motorcycle he was operating on the Pali Highway at about 9:40 a.m.

The "solo bike" officer was taken to The Queen's Medical Center where he was reported to be in serious but stable condition. The incident happened in the Kailua-bound lanes of the highway fronting Queen Emma Preschool.

It was not immediately known if the officer lost control of the motorcycle or if another driver ran into him.
