Feminist will address program

Catholic feminist theologian Rosemary Radford Ruether will be the guest lecturer for the Rev. Yoshiaki Fujitani Interfaith Program when she talks about "Women and Globalization: Victims and Sites of Resistance."
She teaches at Garrett Theological Seminary, Northwestern University, and is a member of the university's graduate faculty. Her area of expertise is interrelation of Christian theology and history to social justice issues, including sexism, racism, poverty, militarism, ecology and interfaith relations.
The free lecture will be at 4 p.m. March 5 at the Japanese Cultural Center, Manoa Grand Ballroom, 2454 S. Beretania St. It will be followed by a 5:30 p.m. reception and 6:30 p.m. fund-raising dinner. (Cost for the dinner is $100, $75 of which is tax-deductible).

CELTIC SCHOLAR WILL LEAD RETREAT
Ed Sellner, a scholar of Celtic spirituality, is offering a daylong "Soul Friendship Retreat" at 8:30 a.m. March 11 at St. Andrew's Cathedral. The retreat will focus on the history of the early Celtic church.
He's the author of "The Wisdom of the Celtic Saints," "The Celtic Soul Friend," "Stories of the Celtic Soul Friends: Their Meaning for Today" and "Pilgrimage: Exploring a Great Spiritual Practice."
