Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawai'i football team will play a three-game series with Washington State beginning in 2008, Athletics Director Herman Frazier announced today.

The Warriors will play the Cougars on Nov. 29, 2008, and Nov. 26, 2011, at Aloha Stadium. Hawai'i will travel to Pullman, Wash., on Sept. 12, 2009.

"We are pleased to add another Pac-10 team to our football schedule," Frazier said. "This three-game series helps strengthen our upcoming football schedules and we hope to add more quality teams as we move forward."

The last time the teams met, Hawai'i fell to the Cougars, 22-14, on Nov. 27, 1999. Washington State holds a 2-1 edge over the Warriors in the all-time series.

The 2009 meeting will mark Hawai'i's first trip to Pullman, Wash.

The Warriors open the 2008 season on Saturday, Aug. 30, at Florida.
