Advertiser Staff

Two men, ages 19 and 26, were arrested yesterday after they allegedly tried to cash a stolen check at a check cashing business in Pearl City.

Police said the two entered the business at about 1:30 p.m. and attempted to cash a check. A company employee told police he felt something was odd about the transaction and that he contacted the company on whose account the check had been drawn. A company representative said the man for whom the check was intended had reported it as stolen, along with his pickup truck, earlier in the day.

Police were called and the two men who attempted to cash the check were arrested for suspicion of second-degree forgery.
