Advertiser Staff

Steven Wright fired a one-hitter to lead Hawai'i over Loyola Marymount, 3-1, today in Los Angeles.

Wright (2-0) allowed a first-inning double that later resulted in a run because of an error. He retired the last 16 batters in a row, including 20 of the last 21. He struck out 10 and walked none.

Esteban Lopez and Luis Avila each had RBI singles in the second and third innings, respectively, against LMU starer Brad Meyers (0-2). Derek DuPree's RBI ground out came after Robbie Wilder led off the fifth with a triple. Wilder batted 4 for 5 to help the Rainbows improve to 7-2 and drop the Lions to 2-6.
