Padilla, Brasen win Great Aloha Run

Ryan Padilla of Boulder, Colo., and Honolulu's Marie-Louise Brasen were the first male and female finishers today in the 22nd annual Great Aloha Run.

Padilla covered the 8.15-mile distance from Aloha Tower to Aloha Stadium in 44 minutes and 17 seconds. He was followed by Casper Dahl of Honolulu in 44:53 and Jake Puzey of La'ie in 45:06.

Brasen's finish time was 51:09.

Following Brasen were Rani Tanimoto of Kealakekua in 52:22 and Susie Rutherford of Honolulu in 52:39.

More than 20,000 were registered for the race that began at about 7 a.m. in rainy conditions.
