UH announces 2006 football schedule

Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawai'i football team will play road games on consecutive weekends in October, according to the 2006 schedule announced by the school Thursday.

The Warriors will play five road games this season — a non-conference game at Alabama to open the season and Western Athletic Conference games at Boise State (Sept. 23), Fresno State (Oct. 14), New Mexico State (Oct. 21) and Utah State (Nov. 4).

The Fresno State and New Mexico State games would mark the first back-to-back WAC road games in June Jones' eight years as UH head coach.

The November game against Utah State offers the possibility of UH playing its first football game in snowy conditions.

In the news release announcing the schedule, UH athletic director Herman Frazier said he is "investigating different scenarios for the (vacant) Sept. 9 date."

Here's the schedule:

Sept. 2—at Alabama

Sept. 23—at Boise State

Sept. 30—bye

Oct. 7—Nevada

Oct. 14—at Fresno State
