Man arrested at hospital

A 21-year-old man who flipped a sports utility vehicle over Friday on Kuala Street near the Pearl City Wal-Mart, resulting in a morning rush-hour traffic jam, was arrested yesterday at The Queen's Medical Center for suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle.Police said the overturned SUV had been reported stolen Jan. 27 from an Oaniani Street address in Kapolei.
Wal-Mart security guards told police they saw a man speed past the Pearl City store in the SUV about 4:35 a.m. last Friday before running into a tree and light post and then flip over.
The driver was taken to Queen's immediately after the crash and was released yesterday, at which point he was arrested for suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle and three contempt of court warrants.
Two arrested for allegedly carrying gun in public
Two men were arrested in Pearl City yesterday for allegedly carrying a gun in public.
Police officers responding to a suspicious vehicle call approached their car at about 3 p.m. on the 2500 block of Komo Mai Drive.
The officers reported finding a handgun in plain view and within reach of both men.
The men, ages 24 and 26, were arrested for suspicion of a weapons offense.
Girl, 13, says family member sexually assaulted her
A 58-year-old Kailua man was arrested yesterday after a 13-year-old girl told police she was sexually assaulted by a family member between May 1999 and May 2000 when she was 7-years old.
Police arrested the man for investigation of two counts of third-degree sexual assault.
Two women arrested for alleged Dec. 29 assault on bike path
Two women have been arrested in connection with an assault reported by a 41-year-old woman, who told police she was attacked at about 12:40 a.m. Dec. 29 while walking on a bike path in Pearly City. The victim reported that her nose was broken during the incident.
A 19-year-old woman was arrested Feb. 17 and a 20-year-old woman was arrested yesterday.
They were booked for investigation of second-degree assault and were released without charges pending further investigation.
Stepfather arrested for alleged sexual assaults of girl
A 47-year-old Mililani Mauka man was arrested yesterday in response to a complaint filed by a 19-year-old woman, who said her stepfather sexually assaulted her from August 1996 to May 2001.
Police said the woman waited to file the complaint until she moved out of the home where her stepfather lives.
He was arrested for investigation of third-degree sexual assault and released without charges, pending further investigation.
