SPORTS CARNIVAL IN MARCH

Free R&B concerts are among the attractions at the Sports Carnival, the annual celebration of games, rides and food at Aloha Stadium. Star ensemble B5 will perform at 8 p.m. March 10-11; Ray J performs at 8 p.m. March 17-18. The carnival takes place 6 p.m.-midnight Fridays, noon-midnight Saturdays, noon-11 p.m. Sundays, March 10-12, 17-19. Admission fees depend on when you go. It's $2 general, $1 for those 4-11, free for keiki 3 and younger noon-6 p.m. Saturdays and all day Sundays. It's $4 for those 4 and older, free for those 3 and younger on Fridays and 6 p.m.-midnight Saturdays. Go to www.ekfernandez.com for more details, including wristband sales for unlimited rides.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY PLANS

Mark your calendars with a big green marker: St. Patrick's Day is March 17. Among the celebrations:

  • L&L Drive-Inn at Kahala Mall will host its second Corned Beef Musubi Eating Contest from 10 to 11 a.m. March 17 at Center Court. Want to enter? Call 951-9888.

  • Aloha Tower Marketplace's celebration includes musical entertainment, contra dancers, strolling leprechauns, prizes and party beads from 5 p.m. March 17. Admission is free.
