Advertiser Staff

Austin Smylie's three-point play with 2:12 left in overtime put visiting Brigham Young-Hawai'i ahead to stay, and the Seasiders hung on to beat Hawai'i-Hilo, 85-82, last night at the Afook-Chinen Civic.

Smylie's basket and free throw gave BYUH a 78-75 lead, and after a miss by UHH, Smylie was fouled and made two free throws for an 80-75 lead.

The Vulcans closed to 82-80 on Justin Dodson's 3-pointer with 53 seconds left and a jumper with 23 seconds to play.
