Five injured in two-car crash

Five people were injured today in a two-car collision on Kamananui Road between Kamehameha Highway and Kaukonahua Road.Police said one person injured in the 4:30 p.m. collision was in serious condition and that the others were stable. All were taken to Wahiawa General Hospital.
Police arrested the driver of one of the vehicles, which had been reported stolen. Hawaiian Electric Co. was working to replace a utility pole damaged by one of the cars. No outages were reported.
The collision prompted the closure of Kamehameha Highway and Kaukonahua Road until 6 p.m. Kamananui Road at by the pineapple variety garden was also closed.
