Toddler falls to death at Hilton

A 3-year-old boy fell to his death today from an eighth-floor lanai of a hotel room at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, officials said.A police investigator said the death appears to be accidental. It happened about 4:35 p.m. at the Ali'i Tower of the Hawaiian Village.
Police said the boy may have slipped through the bars of the lanai railing. A hotel spokeswoman could not immediately say what the dimensions of the railing are.
The boy was staying with his family at the hotel, the spokeswoman said. The family is not from Hawai'i, but she did not immediately know where they are from.
