400 Marines, sailors to be deployed

Nearly 400 Hawaii-based Marines and sailors are scheduled to leave the islands tomorrow morning for their second tour, a seven-month deployment to Afghanistan.The members of the 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment returned from a combat tour in Iraq in April 2005.
The Marines will replace the Hawaii-based 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, and will participate in security and counter-terror efforts that are already underway.
