Okesene Ale scored 17 points and Pele Soliai 13 to lead Kahuku to a 65-38 victory over Kaiser in the O'ahu Interscholastic Association boys basketball season opener for both teams at Kahuku gym.

Kahuku, the defending OIA champion, took a 19-6 lead after the first quarter and led 30-14 at halftime.

Andrew Wingers scored 11 points for the Cougars.
