'Zorro,' 'Interpreter' kick off Waikiki's Sunset on the Beach events for 2006

The year's first pair of Sunset on the Beach festivals of food booths, entertainment and movies on that 30-foot screen hit Queen's Surf in Waikiki this weekend.

Tonight's featured film is "The Legend of Zorro," starring Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones in a followup to the 1998 hit adventure. Tomorrow's film is the thriller "The Interpreter," starring Nicole Kidman as a United Nations interpreter who hears about an assassination plot, and Sean Penn as the troubled federal agent in charge of the case.

Sunset on the Beach begins at 3 p.m.; the films hit the screen about 6:30 p.m. Admission is free. 923-1094.
