Stress becomes dangerous when it interferes with your ability to live a normal life for an extended period, according to the American Psychological Association. Here's what you can do to manage it:

  • Make time for yourself at least two or three times a week to help refresh your mental outlook and slow down your body's stress response systems. Exercise or meditate to your favorite music.

  • Set reasonable standards for yourself and others. Don't expect perfection.

    BATTLE INDOOR AIR POLLUTANTS

If you're sick of indoor allergies — the constant sneezing and watery eyes — consider these tips to eliminate indoor air pollutants, courtesy the Green Guide, a source for eco-friendly advice:

  • Dust and damp-mop frequently, wash bedding in hot water biweekly to kill dust mites, and vacuum at least once a week using a machine with a high-efficiency particulate air filter.

  • Open windows or run ventilation fans in high-humidity areas such as bathrooms and kitchens to prevent mold and mildew growth.
