Who'd have predicted that the director of "The Sweet Hereafter" would hook up with the dude who wrote "Escape (The Piña Colada Song)"?

Atom Egoyan directed and Rupert Holmes wrote the film "Where The Truth Lies," which visits the tawdry story behind the bust-up of a fictional '50s comedy team a la Martin and Lewis. Colin Firth and Kevin Bacon play the duo; Alison Lohman is the journalist who'll do anything — and we mean anything — to get the dirt. At 1 p.m., today, at the Doris Duke Theatre. 532-8768.

HAWAI'I-DESIGNED QUILT WARMS MIDWEST BEDROOM

Ki ho'alu isn't the only Hawaiian tradition that's finding a wider audience. Real Simple magazine's February issue features a home in Stoughton, Wis., with an eye-popping black-and-white "Under the Hala" quilt on a bedroom wall.
