Kamehameha senior linebacker Mana Lolotai said he has accepted a scholarship offer to play football at Oregon State.

"It's a real small community, very simple," said the 6-foot, 221-pound Lolotai. "I'll be more focused on school. I'll feel more comfortable because it's like over here in Kahuku (where he lives). It's real simple."

Lolotai was an Advertiser All-State second-team selection and a first-team pick for the Interscholastic League of Honolulu. He started for the Warriors since he was a sophomore.

Lolotai just returned from a recruiting visit to Washington. He also had offers from Utah and Hawai'i.

He is the third Hawai'i player to commit to OSU. Teammate Ryan Pohl, an offensive lineman, and Damien defensive lineman Mike Sipili also are expected to sign letters of intent next month with the Pac-10 school.

"It's comforting knowing you will play with people that you know," Lolotai said. "That's the good thing."
