Man assaults girlfriend after threatening her with gun

A 29-year-old Kaimuki man was arrested last night for allegedly assaulting his 41-year-old girlfriend earlier in the day and threatening her with a gun a week ago.

Police responded about 7:20 p.m. to a complaint about a loud argument at the couple's home on Waialae Avenue. The girlfriend told police her boyfriend had assaulted her and that he had pulled a gun on her Jan. 6 and threatened her with it.

Police said the girlfriend filed a report at the time about the alleged threatening incident but police were unable to locate the boyfriend.

The boyfriend was taken into custody yesterday for suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening and abuse of a family or household member.
