Hawai'i players will be well-represented in this weekend's Perfect Game 18-under Winter Baseball Championship Series tournament at Les Murakami Stadium.

A number of players who participated in last weekend's showcase will be playing in the four-team tournament. Perfect Game Hawai'i Blue is made up of all Hawai'i players, while others are scattered among the other three teams. There is no admission charge for the games, which run today through Monday.

The players on Perfect Game Hawai'i Blue are: third baseman Herbert Chung of 'Aiea; pitcher Aaron Correa, third baseman Trycen Cosier, outfielder Tyson Goo and catcher Kolten Wong of Kamehameha-Hawai'i; infielder Russell Doi, catcher Aaron Fujiki, pitcher Dane Kinoshita and first baseman Michael Nagamine of Mid-Pacific Institute; pitcher C.J. Johnson of Iolani; pitcher Cory Yuh of Pearl City; infielder Kevin Seaver of Waiakea; pitcher Robert Reid of Mililani; and pitcher/outfielder Evander Ledward of Damien.

Eleven of Perfect Game Hawai'i Green's 14 players are from Hawai'i: infielder Shaun Shima of Baldwin; infielders Chad Takabuki and Wade Tamaru of MPI; catcher Ian Padeken of University; third baseman Kaeo Schweitzer of Kea'au; outfielder Jarom Lee, pitchers Kekoa Yochman, Brian Simeona and Brian Alben of Waiakea; and outfielder Makana Kitamura of Kamehameha.

Punahou first baseman Bucky Aona is the sole Hawai'i player on the ABD Bulldogs based out of San Bernardino, Calif. Waiakea pitchers Darren Takasaki and Sheldon Otsuka have been assigned to MVP Baseball out of Oxnard, Calif., as are Kurtis Hawkins of Kealakehe and Cliff Hawkins of Makua Lani Christian on the Big Island.

University of Hawai'i recruit Matt Jaimes, of Ontario, Calif., is an outfielder and pitcher for ABD. He signed with UH in November and will join the team for the 2007 season.

The two will play in a tournament that runs today through Sunday at the Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Ariz., the spring training site of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Marciel is a catcher who has signed with Kansas and Hasegawa is a middle infielder. They were the only Hawai'i players picked. They will be playing with about 200 other players from around the nation in the 12-team, wood bat tournament.

According to the Baseball Factory Web site, the players were scouted and selected by the Baseball Factory and Team One scouts, as well as scouts from major league teams.
