LIHU'E, Kaua'i — Pilot Glen Lampton, whose Heli USA tour helicopter crashed into the ocean Sept. 23, resulting in three deaths, pleaded not guilty today to manslaughter and other counts associated with the incident.

Lampton, now a Las Vegas resident, was indicted on three counts of manslaughter, two counts of reckless endangering and one count each of tampering with evidence and providing a false statement to authorities.

Three passengers died when the helicopter sank off Ha'ena, two drowning and a third suffering a heart attack. Lampton and a Wisconsin couple survived. A National Transportation Safety Board investigation of the accident is still underway.
