Headliners for Kokua Festival announced

Headliners and a sales date for Jack Johnson's third annual Kokua Festival, April 19 on Maui and April 22 on O'ahu, have been announced: Country legend Willie Nelson and alt-folkie Ben Harper will join Johnson in the line-up, and tickets go on sale Feb. 4 at 9 a.m.

Also on the bill for Kokua 2006 are Henry Kapono, Paul Fuga and the One Love 'Ohana Band and ALO. Maui resident Nelson will be joined by his island-based jam band the Planetary Bandits. Proceeds from both shows go to Johnson's environmental education-focused non-profit, Kokua Hawai'i Foundation.

Tickets for Kokua Festival at the Waikiki Shell and Maui Arts & Cultural Center will be $35 lawn, $40 reserved, $50 pit area. General admission tickets for ages 3 to 10 are $17.50 (accompanied by an adult); free admission for children under 3. Waikiki Shell tickets will be available through Ticketmaster; Maui tickets will be available at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center box office, online at www.mauiarts.org, or by phone at (808) 242-7469.
