The University of Hawai'i football team Monday received verbal commitments from two Kapolei High School players.

Pookela Ahmad, a 6-foot-2, 199-pound outside linebacker, and Alasi Toilolo, a 6-4, 230-pound defensive end, said they will accept UH scholarships.

"I wanted to stay home and play in front of my family," Ahmad said.

Toilolo said: "The coaches and the players made me feel like I was part of a family. I liked that."
