Woman gets 78 months for selling meth

Advertiser Staff

A 33-year-old woman was sentenced to 78 months in prison yesterday after pleading guilty to two counts of selling crystal methamphetamine, according to the U.S. attorney's office.

Judith Esmena, 33, was arrested in March 2005 after making six "ice" sales to an undercover Honolulu police officer over several months. At the time of her arrest, police found 250 grams of ice in her car. Officers also seized and forfeited more than $300,000 in "drug related" cash from Esmena's house, safe deposit boxes, and bank accounts.

The case was investigated by HPD and agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
