Bank robber wearing dress sought by police

This photo was taken of a man who robbed the Kalihi branch of American Savings Bank on Friday dressed as a woman.

Police yesterday distributed this photo of a cross-dressing bank robber who hit the American Savings Bank branch at 1851 North King St. on Friday.

The man, dressed in a purple and pink floral dress, a white curly wig and a blue baseball cap, walked into the bank at about 5:15 p.m. and passed a note to the teller demanding money.

He received an undisclosed amount of cash and ran away in an unknown direction.

He was described as 5 feet 8 with a slim build and in his 20s. He was wearing black pants under the dress and black shoes.
