UH picked second in WAC baseball

Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawai'i baseball team has been picked to finish in a tie for second place in the Western Athletic Conference in a poll of coaches, the conference office announced today.

In addition, three UH players — outfielder Matt Inouye, catcher Esteban Lopez and pitcher Darrell Fisherbaugh — were selected to the 14-man pre-season all-conference team.

Fresno State received six of the coaches' seven first-place votes. UH and Nevada, which got the other first-place vote, were picked in a tie for second. They were followed by San Jose State, New Mexico State, Louisiana Tech and Sacramento State.
