Wahiawa area residents asked to conserve water

Residents of Wahiawa and Whitmore Village are being asked to cut back on water use as much as possible until a broken pump can be repaired.Board of Water Supply officials said the pump was repaired and placed back into service yesterday afternoon but broke down a short time later.
The pump is used to refill one of the primary reservoirs in Wahiawa.
Residents of the two communities are being asked to use water for essential needs only, such as drinking, cooking and personal hygiene. Other activities such as washing clothes and cars or watering the lawn should be postponed until the pump is back in service, water officials said.
