A 21-year-old Hawai'i-based Marine died Friday, two days after sustaining wounds during an improvised explosive device attack in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense reported today.

Lance Cpl. Billy D. Brixley Jr., assigned to Kane'ohe Bay's 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, Marine Expeditionary Force, died at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany.
