Man allegedly shoots neighbor's dog

Police arrested a 51-year-old Wahiawa man yesterday after he allegedly entered a neighbor's home without permission and shot and killed a dog that had bitten him earlier.

No one was home at the time of the incident, but another neighbor saw what happened and called police, who arrested the suspect about 5:30 p.m. for suspicion of first-degree burglary.



Ex-boyfriend arrested for break-in, abuse and threatening

A 27-year-old man was arrested yesterday after he broke into the Waimanalo home of his ex-girlfriend, began arguing her and threatened to stab a 24-year-old man who tried to intervene on the woman's behalf.

Police said relatives of the 25-year-old woman disarmed the intruder, escorted him off their property and told him not to return.

Family members said the former boyfriend came back later, climbed through a bedroom window and began attacking the 24-year-old man.

Police arrested the suspect about 6:30 p.m. for investigation of first-degree burglary, abuse of a family or household member and first-degree terroristic threatening.



Woman turns herself in for credit card theft

A 51-year-old woman with no local address, was arrested last night after she allegedly turned herself in to police for using credit cards that did not belong to her to purchase items at the Ke'eaumoku Street Wal-Mart store.

Police said the woman ran from the store after using the credit cards, but later called police to turn herself in and was arrested at Ala Moana Beach Park for suspicion of credit card theft, third-degree identity theft, fraudulent use of a credit card, and third-degree theft.



Fort Shafter resident arrested for sexual assault

A 37-year-old man was arrested at a home on the Fort Shafter military base yesterday after a 13-year-old boy told police the man sexually assaulted him.

The boy told police he was at his aunt's home on Montgomery Road when his cousin assaulted him about 1 a.m. yesterday.

Police arrested the suspect for investigation of first-degree sexual assault.



Man arrested in botched check forgery scheme

A 32-year-old Kalihi man was arrested yesterday after he allegedly burglarized the rooms of two men who live in the same group home and forged a check belonging to one of the men.

A bank teller made copies of the check and the ID card the suspect used while trying to cash the check and returned the original check and ID card to him. The suspect ran out of the bank after failing to cash the check and later met with his brother and confessed to what had happened, police said.

The brother recovered evidence of both burglaries and the forgery and turned in the suspect, police said.

The suspect was arrested for investigation of two counts of first-degree burglary and one count of first-degree forgery.



Store robber demands cash, cigarettes

A 29-year-old clerk at a Makiki convenience store told police she was robbed at 12:01 a.m. yesterday.

The cashier said she was about to ring up a customer's items when he pointed a gun at her and demanded money and cigarettes.

The robber ran from the store after the cashier complied with his demands, police said.



Police pursuing abuse investigation tied to infant's leg fracture

Police have opened an assault investigation involving a 44-year-old Wai'anae man and a one-month old infant.

Police said the infant was taken to a hospital about 8 p.m. Friday and diagnosed with a broken leg.
