LOGAN, Utah — The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team once again went cold in a cold-weather city, resulting in another road loss.

The Rainbow Warriors remained winless away from Honolulu this season with a 63-52 loss to Utah State Monday night in a game televised nationally on ESPN2.

A raucous crowd of around 10,000 at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum watched the Aggies avenge an earlier loss at Hawai'i in December.

Utah State improved to 15-4 overall with their 14th consecutive home victory, and 6-2 in the Western Athletic Conference. Hawai'i dropped to 10-8 overall, including 0-6 on the road, and 4-4 in the WAC.

The 'Bows shot 38.2 percent from the field, and trailed for almost the entire game. Hawai'i cut a 20-point second half deficit to seven, but otherwise it was all Utah State.

Julian Sensley led the 'Bows with 14 points, and Deonte Tatum added 10, but they both shot 4 of 12 from the field.

Nate Harris led the Aggies with 19 points and 11 rebounds, and Jaycee Carroll added 13 points.

The Aggies raced to a 18-7 lead to open the game and never relented. Hawai'i cut it to 18-13 with 9:19 remaining in the half, but it was all Utah State after that.

The Aggies went on an 11-2 run to increase their lead to 29-15, and eventually took a 36-19 lead at intermission.

The 'Bows shot just 30.8 percent from the field in the first half, and the 19 points was their lowest total in a first half this season.

Hawai'i was assessed 10 fouls in the first half to Utah State's eight. Starting forward "Big Matt" Gipson was limited to six minutes in the first half with three fouls, and his replacement, Chris Botez, also picked up three fouls.

Hawai'i coach Riley Wallace was assessed a technical foul late in the first half for arguing the foul situation.

Ahmet Gueye appeared to hit a last-second shot from the baseline to end the first half, but the referees ruled it came after time expired.

With 17:07 still remaining in the second half, the Aggies built the lead to 43-23, prompting their fans to chant "Up by 20! ... Up by 20!"

Sensley and Tatum combined to score all 15 points during a 15-2 Hawai'i surge that cut the Utah State lead to 47-40 with 9:41 remaining in the second half.

Carroll then drained back-to-back 3-pointers on Utah State's next two possessions to put the Aggies back up by 13 with 6:55 remaining. Hawai'i never got within single digits the rest of the way.

Perhaps fittingly, the game was delayed for a few minutes when the lights in the arena went dark with 39.7 seconds remaining.

The 'Bows are scheduled to return to Honolulu today. They will host a WAC game against Idaho on Thursday.
