KAWAI NUI WORKDAYS — The Windward Ahupua'a Alliance will hold landscaping workdays Feb. 4 and 18 at Kawai Nui Wayside Park, opposite the model airplane field on Kapa'a Quarry Road; lunch provided. Call 247-6366, ext. 1, or 223-5535.

CRATER OVERNIGHTER — The Friends of Haleakala National Park will conduct a crater service project Feb. 6-10, with accommodations at Kapalaoa Cabin. Work includes non-native plant removal, care of native species, minor cleaning and cabin maintenance, with time for exploring. Call (808) 876-1673.

WAIKIKI CLEANUP — The Waikiki Ohana Workforce of the Waikiki Improvement Association will clean up the beach 7-9 a.m. Feb. 11. Meet at the Duke Kahanamoku statue. Call 923-1094, ext. 6, or 971-6890.

WHALE FESTIVAL HELPERS — The Pacific Whale Foundation of Maui needs volunteers for Great Maui Whale Festival events, including Run for the Whales (Feb. 11), Whale Day and Parade of Whales (Feb. 18), and the Great Whale Count (Feb. 25). POUHALA MARSH — The Hawai'i Nature Center Pouhala Marsh cleanup and restoration project continues, with pickleweed removal scheduled 8:30-11:30 a.m. Feb. 25, March 18, April 29 and May 20. NATURE DOCENTS — Volunteer teaching docents are needed for the Hawai'i Nature Center's second-grade program. Time commitment is twice a week, four hours each morning, from March to May. Contact Pauline Kawamata at 955-0100, ext. 18.
