A Circuit Court jury needed less than an hour to acquit nightclub owner Jack Law today of charges that he gave a date rape drug to a 31-year-old man and sexually assaulted him at Law's Sierra Drive home last year.

During the trial which began June 22, the man testified he knew he was being sexually assaulted after he was given a drink by Law, but could not control his body the early morning of May 21 last year.

Law denied putting any drug in the drink and testified that the sex was consensual.

He was charged with three counts of second-degree sex assault, which each carry a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.

Law, owner of the Wave Waikiki which recently closed and Hula's Bar & Lei Stand in Waikiki , had been free on $150,000 bond.
