Longer summer days, more time with family

By Zenaida Serrano
Advertiser Staff Writer

Summer months mean longer days. Why not take advantage of those extra daylight hours with some feel-good time with the family?

Going for a cool dip at Poka'i Bay Beach Park, making the perfect potato salad for a picnic or flying a kite with the keiki at Magic Island are some ways you can spend your summertime.

Whether you take a drive to Waimea Bay or hang out with the family in your own backyard, the point is to slow down to enjoy some much-deserved R&R with those you love most.

In that spirit, we offer these ideas on how to celebrate summer:

 •  Hit the beach
 •  Make 'ono potato salad
 •  Fly a kite
 •  Play outdoor keiki games
 •  Wow! Check out fireworks
