Police Beat: Husband uses vacuum to disarm wife

A 22-year-old Wahiawa woman was arrested yesterday after she allegedly threatened her husband, 28, with a kitchen knife.Police were told that the pair were arguing at about 1 p.m. when the wife went to the kitchen, returned with a large knife and held it in a menacing manner above her husband.
The husband said he was able to use an upright vacuum cleaner to disarm his wife.
Police were sent to the home on Alai Place and arrested the woman on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.
Two arrested for stealing copper pipe
A 29-year-old woman and 33-year-old man were arrested yesterday morning after they were caught allegedly stealing copper pipe from a chicken preparation plant on Kanakanui Street in Kalihi.
According to a police arrest log, the couple live on Mokauea Street, just a few blocks from the processing plant.
Officers from the Kalihi police district station found the pair about 7:30 a.m. in the building at 1804 Kanakanui St. and arrested them on suspicion of second-degree burglary.
Women allegedly lure woman to park and rob her
Police are investigating a report filed by a 28-year-old woman who said she was robbed by two other women last night after meeting one of the women at Windward Mall in Kane'one.
The woman who filed the report told police she met a woman, who appeared to be in her 20s, and went with the younger woman to a nearby park.
A third woman, estimated to be in her 30s, met the pair at the park, pulled a small knife and held it against the neck of the 28-year-old woman and demanded her money and jewelry, the woman told police.
Both of the two women slapped her and one of them told her to hurry up, the woman who filed the report said. She said she last saw the two women speeding away from the scene in a gray Dodge Stratus.
Golf club used in attack
A 47-year-old man was arrested in the Vineyard Street area last night after a 26-year-old man told police the older man hit him in the head with a golf club.
Police said the two men were arguing about 8:40 p.m. when the younger man was struck with the golf club, causing a deep cut to one of his ears.
Police were called to the scene, the alleged attacker was identified and he was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault.
Police searching for man who robbed Waikele Shopping Center
Police are looking for a man who robbed a store in the Waikele Shopping Center complex about 3:45 p.m. yesterday.
Store employees said the man entered the store, brandished what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money.
Police said the man ran from the store after being given an undisclosed amount of cash.
No one was injured in the incident, police said.
