Three surfers advance in France

Hawai'i surfers Crystal Dzigas, Janna Irons and Joy Magelssen advanced to the fourth round of the Roxy Women's World Longboard Championship contest.

The third round was completed yesterday in 2- to 3-foot waves at Biarritz, France.

Magelssen was one of the standouts of the day, and her two-wave total of 15.15 was the second-best score of the third round.

Hawai'i surfers Kula Barbieto and Miku Uemura were eliminated in the third round.


YOUTH BASEBALL

MILILANI WINS MUSTANG

Kai Matsumoto batted 4 for 5 and Mililani A All-Stars scored 10 runs in the first three innings to defeat KAC, 11-4, in the championship game of the PONY Mustang (ages 9 and 10) Regional State Tournament at Central O'ahu Regional Park yesterday.

Trent Sitar, Khade Paris, Sean Milan and Kody Yamade each had two hits for Mililani.

Mililani outscored its five opponents 49-5 in tournament.Mililani advances to the Mustang West Zone Regional, July 27 to 31 at Chino Hills, Calif.
