59th Prince Lot Hula Festival at Moanalua Gardens

Moanalua Gardens' traditional grass hula mound will be all action today for the annual Prince Lot Hula Festival.

The annual Prince Lot Hula Festival gets under way at 9 a.m. today at Moanalua Gardens. The 59th annual celebration is themed "Ko Kakou Kuleana: Our Land, Our Legacy, Our Trust" and is a noncompetitive showcase of hula.

The schedule of performances:

9:30 a.m. Na Hoa O Naleilehua (kumu Val Crabbe).

10 a.m. Halau Hula 'O Kilohana (April Kealoha).

10:30 a.m. Kailua High School Hawaiian Ensemble (Hau'oli Akaka).

11 a.m. Halau Hula O Ka Wehi Kau I Ka Pali (Ku'uiponani Avilla).

11:30 a.m. Halau Hula O Maiki (Coline Aiu).

1 p.m. Halau Hula 'O Nawahine (Marlene Nawahine Haili Kuraoka).

1:30 p.m. Halau Hula Ka Hale 'o 'Io, the Hawai'i Secondary Schools Hula Kahiko Competition overall winner (Raylene Kawaiae'a).

2 p.m. Halau Kekuaokala'au'ala'iliahi ('Iliahi and Haunani Paredes)

2:30 p.m. Pua Ali'i 'Ilima (Vicky Holt Takamine).

3 p.m. Halau Hula 'O Kawaiho'omalu (Kukaho'omalu Souza and Keli'iho'omalu Puchalski).
