1921: Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park is dedicated.
1921: President Harding signs the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act.
1922: Manuel Nunes dies at the age of 79. The Advertiser reported that he arrived in Hawai'i in 1878 in the second contingent of Portuguese workers and the following year invented the 'ukulele.
