Ahuimanu man gets 5-year prison sentence for threats

Advertiser Staff

A 38-year-old Ahuimanu man who earlier this year pleaded guilty to two felony counts of terroristic threatening that targeted neighbors was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge Steven Alm today to five years in prison.

During the sentencing, Alm said the defendant, David R. Domingues, showed little change in his behavior and virtually no remorse for his actions.

Domingues had threatened his neighborhood for about 10 years, according to prosecutors. Neighbors then decided to fight back, with six families filing restraining orders against Domingues.

Domingues was indicted by the O'ahu grand jury in November on two counts of terrorizing two neighbors, threatening them and verbally abusing them with racial slurs. Domingues has been in custody since his arrest Nov. 17. In late February, Domingues pleaded guilty to two counts of felony terroristic threatening. He faced a maximum five years in prison on each count.
