Man sentenced to 20 years for sexual assault

Advertiser Staff

A 25-year-old man was sentenced today to a maximum 20-year prison term for abducting a woman sitting in her car in Manoa, ordering her to drive to a secluded area and sexually assaulting her.

Shannon K. Kalahiki who was found guilty earlier this year after he pleaded no contest to the charges was sentenced by Circuit Judge Karl Sakamoto for the sexual assault March 23 last year.

The Hawai'i Paroling Authority will later set the minimum term Kalahiki must serve before he is eligible for release on parole.
